I don't have the link, but I read an Associated Press story out of Grand Rapids, MI today about a high school player dropping a bag of marijuana out of his shorts during play in a playoff game. If anyone has the link to this story, I'm sure all the readers would appreciate it.

Seriously, that's a sad story. The kid's going to be expelled and maybe charged with possession. Just dumb. Hopefully, it's a wake up call for him, and not the first step down a slippery slope. Chuck

Good one Snaqwells! I laughed out loud. My question on the matter deals with going to the tape. The article reads as if the game officials looked a the tape during the game. I understand that drugs are a serious issue, but to my knowledge it is outside our jurisdiction to go to a tape. Am I not right about this?

Unwritten commandmant of officiating:
"Thou shalt cooperate fully with people who can lead you away in handcuffs." Or, you can always invoke NCAA 2-3-1 for this one (I think that's the right numbers, anyway).

I happen to know the game officials that did this game.
What a goofy thing. School officials believe that he dropped it from his sock during a scrum. Too bad for everyone involved.

Hmmm, I'm left wondering why he would bring it out onto the court in the first place. It's not like he was going to get a chance to light up during a time out.
