Compression sleeve color clarified

Just received the 2011-12 NFHS preseason guide.

There is a play ruling which clarifies that the headband/wristband color may be different from the arm compression sleeve color.

So all headbands and wristbands worn by a team must be one particular color, and all arm compression sleeves worn my teammates must be one particular color, but those may be two different colors. (As long as each color is a legal color as stated in the rule.)

How do you get all of your info before everybody else?

From the case book, Part 1 (Comments on the Revisions):

3.5.3 SITUATION B: Team A’s school colors are red and white. Only A1 enters
the game wearing an arm compression sleeve that is (a) blue; (b) red and wearing
a white headband. RULING: Illegal in (a). Legal in (b), the legal headband
color need not be the same as the legal arm compression sleeve color, but must
be the same for all team members.

Am I the only referee who hates being the fashion police? I hate these rules, but I enforce them.

Why do we care what color sleeves, headbands, wristband, etc. are or if teammates have different colors?

What's next, everyone has to wear the same shoes?

I think NFHS should concern themselves with other things.

How about just making them legal? The medical reason is a farce.
