I have never been to any of those camps personally, but if you plan on going to camp and it is your first time! Just remember a few things they have been posted here every year in the off season, so if you do a search you would find some good points from the great members we have here.
A couple of pointers I can give as I went to my first camp 3 years ago: Go to work games and learn Have an open minded about things as the evalutors will give you great advice Try to be a gym rat when you can and watch games and try to pick the brain of other officials at camp. The most important rule: Have fun and enjoy yourself! JBleach

If you're familiar with three-man mechanics, the Bill Christy camp would be a good camp for you to attend. It's reasonably priced and has a relatively relaxed atmosphere. It's used as both an instructional and try-out camp for high school and JUCO/DIII officials in the area.

As jbduke mentioned, the Bill Christy camp is a very good instructional camp. Plenty of class room and court time. Even though most campers are trying out for local varsity, JUCO and DIII assignors by working 3-person, they do teach and work 2-person mechanics separately. You should get some video of yourself as well. All of the clinicians are local officials and assignors, but they bring a special guest in that is usually a D1 supervisor of officials. The camp is run by an active D1 official and a couple that are recently retired. The level of play is decent, but it is Western Pennsylvania.
That being said, the best 2-person camp I ever attended was run by IAABO. You might want to check their site out as well. |
