2 man positions

I do both 2 man and 3 man. I have had three 2man games and about 7 three man games.

Last night I was evaluated and told I was going to the wrong spots.

Just a survey. Where do you go to stand during the time before the 2nd and 4th quarters?

Division line. R at the throw-in spot, and U on the jump circle farthest from the table.

Looking at the book, it appears the U is supposed to be on the far block in the FC of the throw-in team.

+1. This is the way I've learned it.

But my question is, what do people actually do.

I saw the book, but I thought we were to do it the way you said first, Top and bottom of the jump circle for the U.

You'll love this, after the evaluator talked to me at half time, I got to thinking about it too much and during time outs, I went to the blocks and top of the FT circle for Time outs, like we do 3 man....thinking too much.

But I called a good game. One of the problems we had was my partner arrived 6 minutes before the jump ball...no pre game. And it was my 1st 2 man game in 3 weeks.

Officials Manual:

2.4.5 Intermissions:

2.4.5B The Umpire shall take a position on the division line on the opposite side edge of the restraining circle.

Same as 60-second time-outs or times out, whatever.

That is how we do 2-man here in Rome.

Can I ask what book? 2.4.5A in the Officials Manual states during the intermissions between quarters the R is at the division line. In 2.4.5B it states the U is at the division line on the opposite edge of the restraining circle.

I believe that Snaqs and some others here use IAABO mechanics which are different than the NFHS Officials Manual. Some other regions use state-issued or local mechanics also. What everyone, including Terrapins Fan, need to do is to find out what the accepted mechanic is in their region and then follow it.
