In my rather limited experience, when an obnoxious coach gets seat belted, I usually wish it had been done sooner.

I had one JV game a couple of weeks ago where the visiting coach started in on us from the get go. I had a word with him about chirping in the first quarter, hoping to nip it in the bud early. My partner ended up whacking one of his players on the bench for mouthing off after a foul call.

I went in and informed the coach that he had lost his coaching box due to the indirect technical foul. He, of course, proclaimed that "That is not a rule!" but then sat down. Losing his box made him a lot quieter throughout the rest of the game.
