His original post was no more stupid than the way you questioned him. He's playing semantics, nothing more. no point, nothing.
So to make it more stupid.
He's right, landing on two feet includes landing on the original foot, just like dribbling with two hands includes dribbling with the original hand.
Oddly (or not) the rules are opposite for the two situations, in that landing on the one foot after jumping from it is illegal, while dribbling with two hands following a dribble.

You're right. I was out of line. My apologies to everybody.

I really thought he might have been setting up to point out something more subtle about the wording of the rule.

I was just playing along.

Agree. Just wanted readers to be aware of the strict wording of NFHS R4-44-2(a3) and 4-44-2(b2). I know that Scappy is.

And I deleted my response to JAR above.

Oh my; what have I done?

Would she of maybe been trying to pull of something like a jump stop that a lot of players do most of the time though, going forward? Maybe she was trying to do some sort of jump stop, but doing it in an awkward way to get away from a defender to get her shot off! Just thought I would throw that out there.

My "real" family heritage is Russian on both sides. Please don't insinuate I'm even partly French. ;)

BTW - one of my "real" grandfathers and my great-grandmother at one time both worked for Al Capone. Not kidding. I have an "Al Capone" t-shirt that my son bought for me to commemorate this. And - I'm distantly related to Monica Lewinsky.

Okay, so you're not French - you're a Russian mobster who likes cigars. :D

Please Lord let the season start soon!

If this is what it's come to then I think it's time to work some games.

This is what it comes to every summer. You'll get used to it if you stick around long enough.

But you're right. It's definitely time to start working some games. :)

Unfortunately, it's always summer in certain poster's minds.

Do any states still play girls high school basketball games in the autumn? Or has that gone the way of the telephone with a rotary dial? If not, what was the last state to switch to the winter season?
