I must be a little thick because I'm not following your drift. If you're asking which hotline, I really don't remember. May have been Referee Magazine, some officiating dot com at the time, or the NC State HS officiating questions answer man. Whichever it was, it was.

It likely wouldn't be blocking your teammate's shot, but guiding it in. Imagine a tall center jumping up and steering any outside jumpshot by his team into the basket. It may have been going in anyway, but he makes sure.

The offensive GT rule is there to prevent him from unfairly touching a ball above the ring, on its downward flight, which has a chance to go in. This is equitable because the defense is prohibited from touching the ball under these conditions.

Hence, their advice--"don't call it!"
You can't cut out the most important part of this rule to support your opinion; it has to be a "try."

Now, WTH is an officiating hotline?

I didn't know there was an officiating hotline. I've been wasting my time asking questions in the forum and emailing John Adams.
