4 point play?

A fellow official has this the other night. The crew was not in agreement during the game, nor after on the correct solution.

A1 takes a shot from in the lane, has returned to the floor (or never left), shot has hit the rim and will clearly not be good.
B1 comes in hard for the rebound and taps the ball in the air and crashes into A1, ball goes into basket. (tip, crash, score)
Team A in the bonus.

Options discussed included with a little justification.

1: Count Basket (credit A1) and give A1 one shot.
All part of A1’s shot, plain old “and 1”.

2: Count basket (credit team A) and give A1 bonus shots.
Shot missed, defense tapped it in, normal foul in bonus.

3: Wave off basket, give A1 bonus shots.
Shot was over, ball dead upon defensive foul, normal bonus foul.

I believe this is a “four point play”, option 2.

IF the order in the original situation was crash, tip, score, I would go with option 3.

Thoughts?
Thanks.

The answer is in this question:

Is B1's tap toward A's goal a try?

+1

I hope the OP returns and understands to which of his 3 options this thought points.

41-4 would indicate the try has ended
6-7 would indicate the ball is dead
Therefore no points.

I thought the fact that the foul occurred after the tip would change the answer, but it would appear that the score does not count in either situation.

You clearly count the points IF there is no foul, but B1’s foul causes the ball to become dead.

Thanks.

IF the order in the original situation was tip, score, crash, I would go with option 2.

Would that be correct?

No. The ball is dead once the basket is scored, and doesn't become live until it's at the disposal of the new thrower.
So, unless it's intentional or flagrant, you ignore the crash. If it is intentional, then you would call the technical foul.

Which of the above 3 actions occurred during a live ball?

Which of the above 3 actions occurred during a dead ball?

Puzzle within a puzzle for your edification...
