That would depend upon when the pivot foot was lifted. Most shooters jump to shoot before releasing the ball and that would still be a travel. If the shooter had not lifted his pivot foot before the release then correct.

What about the player who has ended their dribble...then jumps in the air to PASS the ball.

The player "lifted the pivot foot"...so you are saying that would be a travel?

I believe RookieDude knew that, his point was that moving the pivot foot itself is not illegal. It is only illegal if you start to dribble and your pivot foot moves.
