I was doing a boys Freshman game last week and the third time play was stopped so the same player could tie his shoe I sent him to the bench to figure out how to tie a double knot. The coach taped his laces and we had no problems after that.

First solution to this is to not stop play for a player to tie his shoes.

I would prefer it if some coaches taped their own mouths.

I carry a staple gun in my bag and use it on players who can't keep their shirts tucked in. Try it - it works!

Oh yeah, I sometimes use it on blabbermouth coaches.
