1. Semantic correction.
2. It's not the arrow if the try is successful.

I think you are confusing POI with posession arrow. the possession arrow can be the POI. POI means point of interruption. When you have a simultaneous foul you go to the POI and the possession arrow can help you decide who gets possession.

...nah...I get it.

Again...just creating some discussion, so that others might see the thought process.

It is POI...but, some may have thought simply to give the ball back to Team A when a blarge occurs.

As you stated...it COULD be a throw-in for Team A...or it COULD go to the possession arrow...it depends on the POI.

NOTE: I have had two blarges, that I can remember, in my 20 year career...in both instances, we got together and decided one official had the call BEFORE the other.

I know, I know...you will say we screwed it up...so I have screwed up a grand total of 2 calls in 20 years.;)

It's not a successful try if (NFHS) one official has a PC foul. ;)

If it's a double foul, one cannot be a PC by definition. Basket counts if it's released prior to the contact. Case play is clear.

Have you double checked? 4.19.8C (a) is clear. Count the basket, give the ball to B for an end line throwin; no AP.

Have benefitted from many "I'll buy the first round if you are correct" bet from fans and officials alike after showing them
4.19.8 (a).

It's inexcuseable that a fellow official would lose this bet.

I'm a relatively new ref so I'm curious as to what might have been discussed to change the blarge call to a PC.

What did you see? Here's what I saw. etc. etc.

Okay, it's your call.

Proceed from there.

Coach: What about the other guy? What did he call?

Me: Nothing
