2 person, when to talk to a coach
So I have worked the past 10 years in a state that utilizes 3 person mechanics for varsity (7 years actually working varsity) and I recently moved to a state that uses 2 person. My question is this: When during the game do you talk to the coaches? With 3 of us, there is 1 official in front of a coach, and you are usually able to explain your call that they have a question about without interrupting the flow of the game. In 2 person, I am finding it difficult as to when to: A) explain something to a coach they have a legit question about, B) stop their whining about calls/ no calls.
When is a good time to approach these coaches? When you are in front of them during action, you usually aren't right in front of them and there is a lot more that you have to watch for. |

I do not know about when you can talk to a coach in this system. My main complaint with the mechanic change is it was counter-productive to the reasoning for the change. But I will say one thing; I do not think I have seen a crew stand in the right place as the trail once. I have seen most Trails stand near the division line on most FTs. Not sure how you can officiate the FT very well from that position.
Peace
