Zero so far. Had a partner call a team T after granting an excessive TO. Thats it.
I do plan to call one on 02/08/10. :) |
I just did the tally. 7 unsporting T's so far. Ouch.
Four to head coaches - 2 middle school games, one 9 year old rec game and one freshman game Three to players - two for spiking the ball and one for profanely informing my partner and I that he disagreed with our call selection. |

not much
Three so far. 2 were in my second game of the season on 2 players for getting up after a battle for the ball. THey got in each other faces and pushed each other slightly. THen I had one the other day. Partner had a foul. and the kid was walking away from him and said rather loudly that he highly disagreed with the call. (or more like that was F-ing Bullpoop) Either way he got banged. All in all everyone has been good this year. I did have a thats enough on a college coach last night. He told me he thought one of my partners had a vendetta against him.

Like I said, looked like a fun one! |
I coach/1 player in about 35 games thus far in the High School Season.
Coach T was against the Varsity girls coach in a JV game while he was yapping from the bench, gave him a warming, then when he opened his pie hole, I T'ed him up. The Player was in a Varsity game, when my partner called him for a foul he let loose screaming like a kid with his hand on a hot stove burner....it was easy, and the coach never said a word. |
One, called that on Padgett the first game!:D

I don't normally keep count....
But 7 last week over 2 games. 1 in my Tuesday game....player threw the ball at another player after they disengaged from a held ball. 6 on Friday.... #1. MY T: Getting stuck in a mismatch, a small player Home1 fouls a big player Visiting5 (almost 1' height difference). After the whistle, perhaps to send a message that he wasn't intimidated by the big guy, Home1 threw his chest/shoulder into Visitor5. T. #2 & #3. PARNTER's T's: After #1 had settled and my partner got to the players, I went to report...as I was finishing my report I hear tweet-tweet. My partner had a double T on two other players not inovlved in #1. #4. PARTNER's T: DOG T for breaking the plane after an earlier lengthy delay for water on the court after a timeout....against Home. #5 & #6. PARTNER : common foul on Visitor1 followed by the players getting in each other's face...BOTH...called T's....double T. TOTAL: Against:

They Must Get Shot In The *** With Cupid's Arrow, Or Something ...
Foul count was about eight to one, with the home team on the wrong side of the count. My partner calls a foul against a the visiting team, and while he is reporting the foul to the table, the home coach says, "You finally got one right". Of course he whacked him. It took all that I could do to get him away from the reporting area, calm him down (he was hyperventilating), and get things squared away in terms of free throws, putting the ball back into play, etc. Other than that, I've been lucky. No other technical fouls.
Be sure to ask again in mid February, when teams are trying to get their eighth victory to get into the state tournament. Coaches tend to get pretty worked up around these parts in mid February. |
