Sounds like this coach will have many more opportunities to learn the seatbelt rule.

Never mentioned...

... whether the coach was notified by your partner that they had lost the privilege to stand and coach after the technical.

Was that notification given?

Who cares? That isn't a duty of the officials. There is absolutely NO REQUIREMENT that an official notify a coach of the loss of the box following a technical foul. It is the coach's responsibility to know the rule.

What planet do you live on?

Imagine using the words "coach", "know" and "rule" in the same sentence without the word "doesn't".

Which is a good thing. Imagine what would happen if we had to tell the coach he must sit:

Coach: *yelling at you about whatever*
You: Technical foul!
Coach is mad enough
You walk over to the coach: Coach, you have to sit now
Coach yells more at you
You: Another Technical Foul! You're ejected coach!

Nevada,

with all due respect, I'm not ejecting a coach in this situation until I or my partner have had a direct conversation with him similar to the one the OP finally had with this coach. Particularly at the junior high level. That just seems to be good game management skills.

Now, you can argue, and I would agree, that the conversation should've happened sooner. But I am not taking such draconian action without being sure the coach understands the situation.

Over here, if one of us has to give the head coach a technical foul, we're switching with our partner, and any further conversation about the coach losing his coaching box will be told by them.
