... whether the coach was notified by your partner that they had lost the privilege to stand and coach after the technical.
Was that notification given?

Who cares? That isn't a duty of the officials. There is absolutely NO REQUIREMENT that an official notify a coach of the loss of the box following a technical foul. It is the coach's responsibility to know the rule.

with all due respect, I'm not ejecting a coach in this situation until I or my partner have had a direct conversation with him similar to the one the OP finally had with this coach. Particularly at the junior high level. That just seems to be good game management skills. Now, you can argue, and I would agree, that the conversation should've happened sooner. But I am not taking such draconian action without being sure the coach understands the situation.
