I'm probably going to take two of my adult children to a movie over the Christmas break. We usually try to see the blockbuster movies on our family dates. Sherlock Holmes, or Avatar? Suggestions?

Based on the previews, I'd choose Avatar.

Well, if the kids were still in school, I'd say the decision would be elementary.

Slow Weekend?

How about NO weekend......

The storm of storms is moving our way and we could be digging out for days.

Games tomorrow are already canceled!

Time to get a little ROI from College Boy - go shovel Jr.!

My high school varsity game today got canceled. I like Saturday high school games. No rush hour traffic problems.

If you haven't seen it yet, I'd reccommend "The Blind Side" over both of them.

I'm gratified by the apparent assumption that I (or perhaps any of our colleagues here) am a competent film critic. I plan to see both, but I have a bit of a "thing" for bad movies.

I frankly doubt that either film will be 2009's "Citizen Kane." But if I had to pick just one, it would probably be "Avatar," because I'm intrigued by the technology.
