multiple overtime periods

Do the teams switch ends to begin the first overtime or any thereafter?

All overtime periods are an extension of the fourth quarter.

In my 4 OT game last week, I had to correct the clock when he put up 7 for the period. Yes, it is impressive news to share, but it's still the 4th quarter.

Did he also have the foul count showing 13, 14, 15?

Speaking of OT, what is the most OT's anyone here has had to face? I've had 2 games in my career that went 5 OT's, but that was when the periods were still 3 min. instead of 4, so they really don't compare to the present.

I might have left that one alone and tried to get a picture.

what are the OT time periods for college and the NBA.
In HS is it the same for all levels? --edit 4 mins unless noted

Some of the posters here might say if you allow the game to get to a 4th OT you failed as a ref..

Length of Overtime

Length of Overtime
For varsity, it's 4 minutes. For non-varsity, it's half of a regulation quarter.

5-7-3
The length of each extra period shall be four minutes (or half the time of a regulation quarter for non-varsity contests).

In Missouri, OT for non-varsity games is 2 minutes. There was a Boys varsity game in St louis last year that went 5 OT's. I forget the final score and other details. It was not my game.
