Again, I didn't know thats what she wanted. I don't make it a habit to look at a player's shoes when they request a time out.

For me, it depends on the age of the players.
For kids, I will delay starting the clock so that they can tie their shoes. During dead balls, I will even instruct them to tie their shoes. For young adults, they should have figured it out by now. If they ask for a time out, I'm giving it to them if the rules allow it (team control, etc) (Off topic: I've never had a player ask if they could tuck their shirt in...) |

Loose Souls
It's becoming a "cool" thing in middle school boys' basketball to play with shoes untied. The laces aren't flopping all over the place, they're just loose through all eyelets of the shoes. Can't for the life of me see why. Jumpability is minimized, for sure. Seems dumb.
Anybody else seeing this? |
