I guess I need to add an accelerometer to my equipment list. Does Honig's carry them?

I believe, and you will correct me if I am wrong, that this formula is only accurate if we ignore the resistance of the air, or the friction from passing through the atmosphere, or whatever the applicable technical terms are.

And as the ball comes to rest in the dribbler's hand, those reduce to 0. They only have an effect when the ball is moving (or the air is moving relative to the ball).
