dsgdsfggrdd,

Just remember this: when a player is holding the ball, they are not allowed to touch any part of their body to the floor except hands and feet. That makes the fall to the floor traveling call easier to understand.

Clarification, please: If player is holding ball and, say, faking pass, loses balance and presses the ball to the floor to regain balance, stands upright again without ever letting go of ball or moving pivot foot -- that is no violation?

Without books at work now and can't remember.

Did you stick with the kicked ball call or did you go with an inadvertent/accidental whistle? Or did it not matter, ie: offense still caught the pass?

Called it and lived with it. I compounded error by not making eye contact with my partner who would have waved me off, I think.

Call a phantom foul - live with it
Call a violation that never occured - fix it

Not sure what you meant by your partner would've waved you off...
Whether eye contact is made or not, you can always provide info to partners & most importantly, let them change their call if they choose to do so.

Don't make eye contact with me & I'll be coming to ya with info In my pre-game I make it known that I will not come to you unless I am 110% sure. So we don't have to waste time with the "are you sures."

Good advice and thank you.

In this situation I called it and gave the signal immediately, after which I knew I had kicked it . After a signal, can I simply say inadvertent whistle? The team on defense (orange) gathered the pass off the defensive player's leg. Now Orange ball?

I'll wait for the answers to roll in.

When did you blow your whistle, before or after RED gathered the ball?

I'd like to think so... If you go with an IW, the ball goes back to the team that had control prior to the whistle.

FYI, use one syllable words for colors. Orange is red, purple is blue, yellow is gold, etc.
