From what I've been told, this is pretty standard at the college level. In fact, I was told that if you work a conference that requires you to sign a contract each season, you simply stop getting a contract sent to you. No 2-line email explaining why. Just no contract.

I'd say pretty much the same thing as Nevadaref. Depending where you are on the East Coast, you should be able to get to a different camp and try to get picked up somewhere else.
