Bag

Hello,

I am in need of a new bag to carry my uniform and equipment to games. I have been using a regular gym bag and was wondering if I would be better off getting a bag with wheels on it to take to games or not. If so, are there any recomendations on what to get or where to look?

Thank you,

Get whatever the varsity officials in your association use.

It's personal preference..........

Some use duffel bags, some over the shoulder bags, some luggage carriers on wheels, etc. It all comes down to what do you like.

I started with an over the shoulder bag which I really liked, but eventually got too much stuff and moved to a luggage carrier on wheels which I didn't care for. Now I use a wardrobe carrier on wheels and like it alot (albeit its heavy, but sturdy).

Many referee web sites or luggage sites (as below) can give you ideas. Good luck.

And, as Mbyron says - ask around and see what others use.

Limit one-per-family please.

Me translating plain English into mbyron. Now that's a switch.

I have seen camo bags, Red Sox bags, Yankees bags, very small bags that only hold shoes because the guy came to the game site in uniform, and others that scream out "I have moved up as far as I want to move up".

Since I lived in snowy northern VT, I preferred a duffel that had a shoulder strap as opposed to dragging a wheeled suitcase through slush & snowbanks. I may switch that in FL, however. Ask members in your association who do not use items in the 1st paragraph.

Now lets' not start that topic again.

This is not an offer to sell securities.

Wait a minute. Wasn't the guy going dressed to games from North Carolina? You are definitely yanking our chain. Cut it out. That topic was closed a few weeks ago. Let it go.

Any resemblance to real persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

I am visiting family. The guy was from la-la-land, I believe.

I don't necessarily agree with this. Years ago, virtually everyone, including D1 officials in this area, used duffel bags embroidered and ordered by a former Southwest Conference official who owned a ref supply store. One exception was a fellow by the name of Sonny Holmes, who worked in the SWC, Metro, maybe SEC, and probably another league or two that isn't around or has expanded. Anyway, Sonny was the first guy I ever saw using a rolling bag. It looked odd at the time, but now that's about all anyone around here uses. He was well ahead of his time.

Bottom line: get what works best for you. Ebags.com is a pretty good site to look for various kinds of bags.

I agree. No one here cares what bag you use. There are guys who have association logos on their bags. For the most part, everyone uses either a black duffel or black rolling suitcase, but it really isn't a hard and fast rule to use what the varsity guys use.

I use this bag, except mine is the large size not the medium....
