Some observations from tonight’s B&G varsity league tournament games…

A couple minutes later during stop in play, same HC asks a different official who had approached the table, “I want to know what he did to get the T.” The official asks, “Coach, do you want to have a problem?” HC actually says flatly with no anger or ‘tude, “Yeah, I want to have a problem.” TWEET! Late in the same game, “MrT” pauses briefly and tells the coach who had the problem waaaaaay earlier, “You need to sit down and stay there.” I thought this was odd, as the veteran referee who had actually whacked this Coach had not made him sit. Seemed completely out of the blue, Coach was just coaching, wasn’t stepping in bounds, wasn’t saying jack to the referees.

The seat belt is automatic with that T, and a non-calling official should inform the coach; not the calling official. So, MrT was actually doing his job here; although it was obviously way too late and way too unprofessional. How does this guy keep getting games? Is he married to the assigner's sister?

Why do you hire Mr. T? Does he have some interesting pictures of the assignor?

You coaches need to give some input (respectfully, of course) to those who hire. There are a lot of good officials out there. You can do better.
