free throw

Team A is shooting 1st free throw in a one and one. Ball hits rim and bounces several times and then comes to a complete rest on the back of the rim. Is this a dead ball and B gets the throw in or do you go to the arrow for the throw in.

AP arrow. The ball became dead with no team control, no FT or throw-in to follow, nor during one, and there has been no violation.

6-4-3d is the rule citation.
