Man, if coach is getting T'd up in scrimmages, then I know he's getting ran in real games.

Four (4) technical fouls:

TF #2: boys' Jr. H.S.

TF #3: boys' Jr. H.S.

TF #4: boys' Jr. H.S.

I am sensing a pattern here
you probably need to avoid boys' Jr. H.S. games

The first and only coach T was last weekend in a frosh game, when the visiting coach got in my face and said, "you've GOT to call that travel!"

It turns out that I did not have to after all. ;)

I guess I'd have to be there, but "you gotta call that travel" warrants a T?

I imagine there were priors on this.

A few T's in wreck leagues out of maybe 150 games I've done so far.

I imagine it was the "got in my face" part that earned the T, not necessarily the specific words used.

Not that I was there, but I'm thinking the bold is what got coach the T.

And all in the same game to boot. And nothing close before or since then (knock on wood).

That's just the kind of mean-spirited stuff that drives people away.

(Oh, wait, I think I'm channeling the wrong person now...)

I've had 2. Of course, both were in JH games. I've only worked 8 JH games and have had 2 T's in them.

The first one came when I called a 5 second count on a team. The coach thought that the count should restart since the defender "took a step backwards" (he was still well within the 6 foot radius). He told me I need to learn the rule. *tweet*

My 2nd one came when A1 shot the ball and then ran and caught his own airball. My partner called a foul on the ensuing shot and the coach was irate saying that it's a travel when that happens. I told him that you are allowed to do so and he was being very demonstrative and screaming that I was wrong. *tweet*

22 games and 1 T - BJV, for being overy demonstrative after a foul called on him.

Make it 0 for 26. Easy game tonight, didn't have to use a single smart a$$ line I've learned on this forun.:D

Does a player slapping a ball out of an inbounder's hands count?

If so, 1.

15 games, boys/girls varsity.

In 38 games this year:

Two T's to players at the middle school level...

1. First T player thinking he was fouled looks in my direction and yells outloud "D*AMN it!"

2. Second T is in a 7th grader boys game...was for a player, who threw his hands in disgust in front of me after a call. Might have to be a HTBT moment, but I felt it was an easy T

Three T's in BJV games for comments towards me or my partner...

1. Technical foul happened when a player (on the winning time up by 20 points at the time), stole the ball. He loses control after creating contact with the then defense and loses the ball. As we transition back down the court, he looks at me and yells out loud, "You need to call a foul!" Pretty easy T.

2. B9 game...B1 fouls A1 on a fastbreak. Easy call for my partner. B1 after the call goes to the padded wall on the endline and punches it in fustration. Whack!

3. B9 game...A1 drives down the lane and is blocked by B1. A1's momentum after the block carries him to the floor. There was slight contact and A1 thought he should of gotten a call. While on the ground, he slams the floor with two hands and yells, "That's a foul." Bam, easy T.

One T given to a player who for some reason reached across the endline and contacted the ball while the thrower-in was running the endline.

One T in B9 for comments at another player.

!. B1 rebounds the ball and A1 tries to get a jump ball but grabs an arm in the process. I call a foul. Little extracuricular activity... I come in to try and defuse the situation, but as I'm coming in, A1 tells B1, "Don't come in here with that weak s***."

Two T's to head coachs...

1. One T for a coach during a G8 tournament game. A1 drove into a B1 with LGP, bounced off B1, ball bounces off A1 and in the process, A1 gets injured. Tried to beckon the coach to help her injured player, but the coach just spent her time arguing about the call and not attending to her player. In fact, she just stayed at her bench. After more complaining about the call, my partner and I tell her that's enough. She continues, and in the process is trying to incite the crowd and is subsequently hand out a T.

2. Second T was in a BJV game where the coach was asking for 3 seconds early and often in the second quarter. On this particular play, his oppenent scores, and while his team inbounds the ball, he leaves his coaching box, and yells outloud at me about having to call 3 seconds. I was opposite table site, and it was loud enough for everyone to see it. Had no opportunity to give the coach any sort of warning. Easy T. What made it even better was the fact that the varsity officials were there watching the first half and were completely behind the call.
