My daughter, a very young adult, traveled back, and forth, to London, England, by herself, several times over the past year doing HIV/AIDS research. I begged her to put a red maple leaf, national flag of Canada, sticker on her luggage. I heard that in this time of terrorism, it's an easy, simple, safety device. True?

My son's girlfriend, who's here on a student visa, from China, had Thanksgiving dinner with our family. It was fun telling her about Plymouth Rock, the Pilgrims, freedom of religion, the Mayflower, the Native Americans teaching us how to plant a fish with the corn seed, and how to double down at blackjack.
