NFHS 3 Officials Mechanics Examination Question

Question 53. True or false.

The lead official has three-point try responsibilities from the near sideline corner to the near free-throw line extended.

I answered False and the answer key has true? With the reference 3.3.4.B.3.
That took me to page 64 of the Officials Manual and diagram 3-22. Though diagram 3-22 does not indicate that the lead has any 3-point responsibilities.

So is this a wrong answer or am I reading this wrong?

NCAA women use that, but the only time Fed does is maybe on a fast break and the trail is not in position to see the 3 or not! I would have to say it's false also!

My question is, "Since when did the NF make a Mechanics test for basketball?"

Peace

For the 2-man system, the question is true.

Wisconsin has had a 3-person Mechanics test for the last 3 years. It's a NFHS produced test. 100 questions, just like Test I and Test II.

I was in the state office (MHSAA(Michigan High school Athletic Association)) yesterday to pick up some more patches for my shirts and there was a stack sitting on the counter and asked if I could have one.

The only mechanics tests I have ever seen were from football. We used to take the football version of the test for promotion purposes. Our state scratched that test a couple of years ago. I was not aware of a basketball test.

Peace

Which takes me to 7 tests I have to mail in every year. It always feels like I'm working one of these things

Of the 100 questions, about 30 are related to mechanics. The other 70 are general basketball questions that are so easy, you don't even open the book to answer correctly.

Ref3 -

Can you tell me why there is a Part I and II test? I've called in NY, NC and GA and I have only had to take 1 test (I believe it was Part II). Now I'm in OK and I have to take Parts I and II. How are the tests different? Thanks.
