Question Where do you stand?

We began using the new lane alignment in an AAU tourney this week. It feels WEIRD!!!

At trail, I feel like I'm in way too close to the players.

At lead, well I just am not sure where to stand on the first free throw. So I've been standing in the empty first spot. I'm filled with this barely controllable urge to battle for the rebound. And on the second throw, it feels like I'm walking an extra quarter mile to back out of the key. I guess I've moved farther up the lane to administer the second throw.

Where do you NCAA types stand on free throws? Do you back out farther at trail? Where do you stand at lead on the first of two?

I stand the same place I did before or at both college and HS levels. Nothing has changed you just have the players a little further away.

Peace

I haven't done any games with the 'new' alignment, but I remember seeing guys in NCAA games on TV right after they switched. It seemed to me that the lead was closer to the endline or even standing on it, as if since the players moved forward 3-4 feet, I will move forward 3-4 feet also to maintain the same angle. I don't know if that was something that was taught or if I just imagined it, but I remember seeing that difference.

I am sure OS/JMO would not agree, so the guys who agree must be correct in their agreement.
