In FIBA rules you cannot by rule assess a T to an assistant. the head coach (by your description) should of be assessed 2 Bench T's still leaving him 1 more Bench or Direct before the HC is ejected. Then the AC is fair game becasue he then becomes the HC.

I know what you're saying but it is also possible to give an assistant coach a disqualifying foul without going the route of three technicals on the head coach. Maybe that's what he did. I'd be curious.
