Nobody works both the Sweet 16 and Elite 8... 40 officials are chosen for the regionals (three 3-man crews for each of three games at each site, plus one alternate for all three games at each site)
Any official that works a Regional Semifinal or Final is eligible to be one of the ten chosen for the Final Four and Title Game. As a side note, Sweet 16 & Elite 8 officials make $950, Final Four/Championship guys earn $1400. Both totals (not including per diem) are less than some of the big dogs make during the regular season!!!
