It was because of Mikan, not Wilt, that the lane went from 6 to 10 and then 12 feet. In fact, there's a story that the owner of the Lakers at first refused to widen the lane on their home court because he was so mad at the new rule.

If you aren't aware of the Idaho Senator Larry Craig story, perhaps you wouldn't mind applying for the intern job he has open. I;m sure it's a very interesting "position".
