That's just wrong. I need to somehow un-read that.

"So I say to everybody 'keep a hammer in your closet, tie your cell phone around your neck, and be in shape' "

Good officiating advice, too.

You'd better check with your travel agent, Mateen Cleaves, on that location. It could be a velveteen, preteen sweet sixteen St. Marteen.

St Maarten might be your destination.

Not a chance. If my daughter behaved like those kids .. I'd wring her neck.

Well .. as it turns out it's going to be much larger than we initially thought. Here's the story .. and a warning about making (absolute) promises to your daughters.

First, my daughter has always been low maintenance with regard to birthday parties. The past couple of years all she has wanted is to have a BBQ at the park with (all) her friends. But, for her 16th she told us she wanted something a little more. So I agreed that she could have all my volleyball and basketball earnings (after my expenses) to use for her Sweet 16. As it turns out, we were short on volleyball officials this year. I worked a lot more than I thought I would work, both HS and JH. I wasn't expecting much from basketball (HS) considering this was my first year. But I even worked more basketball than I thought I would. I saved all the checks in a shoe box until the end of the HS basketball season. When all was said and done, there was over twice as much money in the pot as I thought there would be; and considering we counted it as a family, I couldn't lie about how much I really made. (Keep in mind that I probably made considerably less than most on this board).

So, daughter reminds me of my promise to her and sets off planning her party, inviting about twice as many kids as we were originally planning on having; along with a couple extra activities. I really have nothing to complain about .. it's paid for.

I think Dan, Jurassic, and M&M said something about going on vacation together - in Hackensac!

I'm gonna try to save some money and bunk outside. It's probably safer...

They could go to London. I hear it's safer there now. Padded Lampposts Tested in London to Prevent Cell Phone Texting Injuries
I think they're calling it Operation Save the Coaches.
