Get either a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry. You'll thank me in 10 years when either is still running great and you have car decisions based on your wants and not your needs. My wife has an Accord and the only thing we've done to it outside of oil changes, 1 battery, and a set of tires is to have the dealer swap out the lifter arms for the hood. I think the Camry's V6 has a little more power, but the Accord's is fine. My wife's has a 200+ horsepower engine that's bomb proof. I remember when the Mustang V8 just broke 200 in the mid-80s!
I wouldn't buy a domestic car that has less than a V8 in it. I just don't think the American companies are turning out as good of cars as the imports. And import is really misleading as your Accord or Camry will almost certainly be made in the US. |

Second hand knowledge
I have a friend who has a G5 (same as the G6 but smaller) and she loves it. Lots of room both inside and the trunk, lots of power and handles well. She said that she'd definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking.
Hope this helps.

I would have to agree about the Corolla. I've had mine about 7 years, and I've put just under 200,000 miles on it. Nice car. Easy on gas. Reliable as you can get.

My wife grew up in the car business (her Dad owned VW dealerships and she worked at them doing paperwork) so I let her choose our cars and do all the negotiating. I just sit back and wait to sign papers. For about the past 15 years, we've both driven various models of Toyota. As you might imagine, she always gets the nicer one, but my point is we've never had anything even close to a major repair. They seem to run almost on "automatic" (no pun intended). Currently, she has a 2008 Camry and I have a 2007 Yaris. We really can't have two large models or they both won't fit in our garage. I would definitely recommend this brand, even though all their measurements are in metric.
