But in all seriousness, I'm not sure. I think this would be more of a local state association rule revision. My opinion - I don't see anything wrong with a coach being a bystander for a game involving a future opponent and recording the game that way. Is he really going to get that much better footage himself, rather than just watching the game if it is aired on the local town's cable channel? It may not be the best choice in terms of ethics or sportsmanship, but by rule I don't think there's anything against it. Most, if not all, NFHS rules deal with the 2 teams competing in the present contest...no mention of 3rd parties or future considerations.

Team A has the same opportunity.

In fact, now that I look at 10-1, the rule is limited to courtside. Yes,no?
What if I want to use it at halftime in my lockerroom?
Not that I would because of time constraints anyways.....

Then if he's not affecting play in any way, he's of absolutely no concern of the officials. He's a spectator.

No matter what you think, if Team C is filming Team A & B's game, there is nothing we can do. Maybe this is something for game management, but other than that, I don't see rules that doesn't prohibits this.

No. Specifically ruled illegal. See case book play 10.1.3SitB(b).
