Is it not a violaion to cause the ball to not hit the rim. However, it is a violation.

The attempt hits the backboard, but misses the rim ... blow your whistle and signal violation or play on?

Since we just said it's a violation, what's the problem here?

Blow your whistle and signal the violation, assuming you're the trail.

Why would you play on? It's a violation.
Ball hits the backboard, players may enter the lane; however, it still must hit the rim or the shooter has violated.

I'm also confused. This is the second thread this morning in which a question has been clearly answered, and then the question was asked again by Johnny.
