The three times when I felt I had become "officially old."

1. I was in my twenties and couldn't convince some of the local high school kids
that it was not necessary to call me sir.

2. I was riding through a college campus, and the girls all looked like kids.

3. One of the moms of a boy in the same age group as my son addressed me as
sir.

Good idea. Turn the kids toward music. Less violence there.

What are you talking about? I can't even turn on the radio these days without being inundated with sax and violins.

They hit each other with saxes and violins? Reminiscent of Quick Draw McGraw, sometimes known as El Kabong! (another old guy reference)
