Scoring Rule

When a player gets fouled on a shot, does that count as a missed shot attempt on the stats?

It depends.

First there are no "missed shot attempts" in the stats. Just FG and FGA. When fouled in the act of shooting, no FGA is credited unless the shot goes in or is awarded (goaltending). In that case, credit both an FG and an FGA.

Whaddya have for these, coach?:

A1 and B1 come down with a rebound resulting in a held ball. Anybody get credit for the rebound?

B1 blocks A1 shot attempt. B2 retrieves. B2 credited with a rebound?steal? anything?

Not unless the foul is ruled after the shot.

It depends on the arrow. If it favors A, A1 gets the rebound. If it favors B, B1 gets the rebound.

A1 gets an FGA. B1 gets a Block, B2 gets a defensive rebound, since every missed shot has to have a rebound.

(And if you're in the Australian pro league, B1 also gets a defensive assist )
