Question

I know this is a stupid question, but since i am new to keeping score I am going to ask it anyway.

Does a fielder's choice or an error count as an official at-bat and a hit or as just an at-bat or neither?

If these do count as an at-bat, what doesn't count as an at-bat besides a walk?

And does anyone know any good links on how to score a baseball or softball game?

Thanks

A fielders choice and an error both count as at bats. Neither of them are hits so they go against your average.

I have a friend that visits a online chat room and/or bullentin board that deals just with scoring situations. Keep looking, they are out there.

In the mean time, Rule 10 of the Official Baseball Rules (MLB) will tell you just about everything you need to know:

Not always. If an error is made on what would be a sacrifice bunt, or sacrifice fly, they are recorded as such as far as time at bat (none) is concerned.
