Help with a situation

Player A1 has the ball, clearly in frontcourt (all 3 points), but is standing right by the midcourt stripe and bouncepasses the ball to A2 who is also clearly on the frontcourt. The ball, because of pressure defense, is bounced off of the midcourt stripe and is caught by A2 (still in the frontcourt) while the ball is over the backcourt.

Do you have anything?

Yes, B's ball for a throw in because of a BC violation on A2

The division line is considered to be part of the backcourt. Therefore, contact with the line gives the ball backcourt status and A cannot be the first to touch in this sitch.

As far as I know, the location of the ball in the air has no bearing on the violation, right?

Correct, they could throw it "over" the backcourt and reach back and grab it out of the air, but once it hit the backcourt, it cannot be first touched by A in this situation...

BC violation. For the same reason that dribbling the ball on the line would be a BC violation.
