Blarge in Wake Forest/UGA game

Saw a blarge called today - player drives from left wing - just a few steps above baseline - and contacts/is contacted by defensive player at about 15 feet out on baseline. Trail has charge, Lead has block. Both came out quickly selling their calls.

From one angle you could see the Trail through the players, and as he calls it and sells it he looks back, sees L, and just drops his arm in what looked like an "ah, sh**" kind of move.

Nothing more to really say about it, other than it's a reminder that even the big boys do things they wish they hadn't from time to time...

Although this is a recipe for disaster, the rules allow for each player described to get a foul (one block and one charge). See Case 4-19-8 Situation C.

Seems like neither official had guts!

Good reference on the double foul scenario.

So, what was the final ruling in that game?
Your description sounds like the Lead conceded to the Trail's charge call...?

Sorry I wasn't clearer. The double foul was reported and play was resumed at the POI as the rules provide.

However, just because the rules provide it, nobody wants a blarge...

Shaq doesn't know what to do now that he doesn't get preferential treatment.
Really clear. They were discussing basketball above. NCAA basketball. What the NBA is currently playing is not basketball.
