Is it possible that the T was not for taunting but for the specific words used?

Maybe Gist yelled, "Hallelujah!" and Shipp yelled, "#$%^#"?

Maybe Gist yelled "AAAAAAAH" and Shipp yelled, "In your face, Gist"?
