She might think she was being cheated if he stopped using it.

Interesting user name and first post.

Betcha it would have taken you longer to come up with a name if the news hadn't came down yesterday about Bonds. ;)

Re:

It was more not so much a matter of finding a name. It was more a matter of a name finding me which also coincided with a good ref buddy of mine ASKING ME FOR THE ANSWERS to our exam.
True. :D

Folks.....open the book and study.
Your thoughts.....?

Let see. On Monday everyone takes the Part II exam. On Tuesday AFTER the test was taken someone asks you what was your answer on #10 True or False. Pray tell how can one "cheat" after the test was handed in. As Ricky said to Lucy "splain it please"

Speaking of tests. If you want a real test. Make it multiple choice with the following answers for evey question.

A. One of the above.
B Two of the above.
C. Three of the above.
D. None of the above.
E. All of the Above.

Had a few sadistic Prof's in College give multiple choice tests like this. Toughest tests I every took.

Well, Ricky...

Asking about an answer to a specific question isn't cheating. Asking about specific answers after a test is taken isn't cheating. But not everyone here takes the test at the same time. So asking for and/or posting all the answers, before taking the test, seems like cheating. And that's what some people on this forum do. For many, the Part 1 exam is meant to be taken as an open-book exam, which the intent is to make an offical actually read through the rule and case book to find the answers. For some, the Part 2 exam is closed book. Giving out most or all of the answers ahead of time is circumventing the intent of the tests.

If it looks like cheating and it spells like cheating, then it's cheating. Sorry I wanted to quack like cheating.

In the state of Virginia there are several tests, so I'll give the answer sheet to what test?

If the powers that be wanted a "real test" for part one it could be done online similar to the NCAA Baseball Exam. As I understand it no two tests are alike My question 1 is different from your question 1 etc. I don't think the NFHS much cares if answers are shared.:D JMO

I have heard rumors that the IHSA will be going to something like that in the near future.

Wrong. Individual states care. Quite a few use the NFHS Part 1 exam for both certification and advancement. These states don't appreciate someone sending their officials the exams and answers before their officials are tested in that state. And posting the FED exam and answers on a local association web site is just as stoopid. It might not make any difference in your state, but it sureashell can lend to cheating in other states.

Maybe where you are, but you need to consider that the NFHS National Test date for this season is 12/3/2007.

I can tell you this. The state of Virginia cares. Our state administrator spoke about the exam at our clinic. She also indicated that next year it will be taken online and with a time limit she wasn’t quite clear if it was 90 min or 2 hours.

This although may back fire on them because we will see less officials pass and be eligible to officiate varsity games and post season games. It will force people to actually start reading the books..

It will probably do the latter. I doubt the number passing will drop far enough to be a problem. You might lose a couple of heavy hitters who've been winging it all these years...until the realize they've got to dig in and correct all those myths they've been perpetuating all along.

Also, you might still have guys taking it together and sharing answers....internet cafe, library, people with laptops...anywhere they can get on the internet at the same time. Heck, if they're clever, they could open up multiple browsers on the screen at the same time and click the same answer in all the open windows....one after another.

There will always be those that find a way to be lazy.

Also, there is rarely a shortage of officials wanting to work the varsity games. More often, the shortage is for JV, Freshman, and below.
