NFHS: Granted as long as the team requesting the timeout has a player in posession of a live ball.

NCAA: Depends.

The only thing that "depends" is if the player is airborne. But if a player has control of the ball and is falling out of bounds while still on the court, then you grant the timeout.

Peace

if a player is in the air with the ball secured - then ignore the request. Not allowed. Correct?

In NF it is very much allowed. Anytime a player has the ball secured you can grant a timeout.

In NCAA games it is not allowed.

Peace

Just to clarify - the no TO rule only applies to an airborne player whose momentum is carrying him out of bounds. If the player jumps straight up into the air, grabs the ball, then comes straight down over the FT half-circle, a TO request can be granted. (NCAA-M)

under high school rules, a player who secures the ball and is clearly in the air and will land OOB and requests a timeout - that is not allowed?

HS: grant the TO
NCAA ignore the request.

Not much else to it than that.
