Beckett was awesome yesterday. Even picked a guy off second. And the Yankees offense just won't stop. Gonna be interesting in a few weeks.

If they're having fun now, they should be in hitters heaven when they [and the Indians] meet the Detroit pitchers this month.

Well over the weekend I took a trip to Yankees Stadium to take my Dad to his first game there. It was a good one to go see. ARod's 500th, Yankees win, and a game with lots of runs. Turns out, a man sitting behind us for whatever reason didn't have a seat with his wife/girlfriend. So I'm assuming he went out to where she was every now and then......turns out she was left field and he ended up catching #500 and a check for 100G. Enjoyable weekend, time to start thinking officiating again!

The Yanks are red hot, and now they've made the Indians red hot.
This ain't gonna be pretty.

Old cheer from my HS: "Our team is red hot. Your team is diddly squat!"

Also: (when the other team was going to shoot a FT) "See that basket, see that ball, come on stupid, hit the wall!"

OK, I'll stop now.

Yo, Chuck........

When you do your Monday morning Sportscenter, don't forget to tell us all about Eric Gagne.

Personally, I'm kinda glad to see him in there in place of Okajima.

He doesn't seem to be making the adjustment to set-up guy very well, does he? 4 game lead? Sox have been playing .500 ball over the last 50 games; Yankees have just been on fire. Seems like they're scoring 10 runs per game over the last couple weeks. Almost doesn't matter if you have a crappy pitching staff if your offense is doing that.

There's still 6 games left for the Sox and Yanks. Those two series will decide it, I think.

I heard that the Tigers have the most losses since the All-Star break in the AL. But that's small consolation for Sox fans. Maybe Mick and I can just commiserate.

Well, Chuck, the Yankees, as usual, certainly do seem to control the direction that the playoffs will be headed. If the Red Sox and the Tigers don't begin feeling a sense of urgency, then we will be singing "wait 'til next year".

Yeah, those poor, first place in their division Tigers. You really gotta feel sorry for them.

Geeze, what would you two do if you both weren't in first place in your respective divisions?
