The Cincinnati-based company (Number two in the midwest! Seventy billion in assets!) was formed in 1906 from the merger of the Fifth National Bank and the Third National Bank.
Fifth Third Bank helped build some ballparks, ... or fields.

The Dayton (Ohio) Dragons (Reds) and the West Michigan (Tigers) both play in the Class A Midwest League and they both play in Fifth Third Field and Fifth Third Ball Park respectively, BUT the MudHens' (Tigers) Fifth Third Field, the real Fifth Third Field, was named Minor League Ball Park of the Year, the year it opened in 2002.

The real Fifth Third Field is in Toledo, Ohio, and is the home of the two-time defending Governor's Trophy (International League) Champion, the world famous Toledo MudHens.

Toledo's is a triple-A whole field, while the Grand Rapids place is just a Double-A ballpark in a park.
