There may have never been a dynasty ended in such a dramatic fashion in the history of the game.

Hell, I can't think of many championships that have been won in such a dramatic fashion....

And Chuck Elias had a front row seat!!! I'm so jealous!

What a great game. Mike Greenstein was one of the officials on that game. The younger one. He is a cool guy. He evaluated me at camp last summer

I missed the "Game Reset" near the end - did Winona St. have any timeouts left? I'm thinking one would have been good at the very end, before the obviously stunned Winona players coughed it up.

A 57-game winning streak ended.

Boy - when your number's up - your number's REALLY up.....

From ESPN.COM:

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Anthony Atkinson scored 10 points in the final 45 seconds, including a layup at the buzzer, to give Barton College its first NCAA Division II title with a 77-75 victory over defending champion Winona State.

Barton ended Winona's two-year, 57-game winning streak and survived a review of the final play by the officials.

Winona appeared poised to repeat as champion when Zac Malvik made two free throws to put the Minnesota school ahead 74-67 with 45 seconds left. Two straight baskets by Atkinson made it 74-71, then Jonte Flowers of Winona hit one of two foul shots to put his team in front 75-71.

Atkinson scored on a layup with 19.4 seconds remaining, then stole the inbound pass and made a layup to tie it 75-75 with 11 seconds left. Atkinson forced a turnover, raced down court and delivered the winning basket just before time expired.

Barton, of North Carolina, finished 31-5. Winona (35-1) beat previously unbeaten Bentley 64-61 in the quarterfinals.

Atkinson finished with 29 points. Malvik led Winona with 26 points.

Winona State also had a 57 game win streak going into this game.

10 pts in 45 seconds! Wow! Probably the best finish EVER.

It would take a fantastic finish in one of these regional finishes today to make me think that a Regional Final should lead SportsCenter tonight instead of this game.

Saw the game ending on the sports report late late last night. No sound as I was at the bar. But WOW - I mean, what a fantastic finish!

I feel for the guy on Winona that coughed up the turnover to allow Barton College to win.
