Unfortunately, the fact that he was chosen to work the games is more an indictment of broadcasting than reinforcement of knowledge, communication skills and tact.

He is like DV and assumes that outrageous, in-your-face commentary works for all viewers -- even those with IQ's in double figures.

As to his ability to comment on things before they happen -- sitting courtside, these guys see a coach get up signaling a TO (not seen by a TV camera), and start screaming to their tv audience "He needs a timeout...he need's a timeout" as if they have insight.

I have heard however, that one of the two forementioned announcers are committed for next season's "Dancing with the Stars".
