NCAA requires a division line. As some have pointed out, it can be pretty difficult to see on TV. Per NCAA rules, a technical foul is actually assessed if the floor does not have a division line that complies with the rules.

We have a Juco school that has no center line where the logo is, but in the 4 years I was at the rival Juco, they never got T'd up.

Would you officials actually call this on your own, or only if a rule-knowing coach brought it up?

Except in my locale where a juco has an illegal center circle. (Of course, the head of officials may have said not to call this unless a coach makes too much of a stink).

The real stupid thing the NCAA has done is putting the bench players at eye level with the floor in the pit. While it may be better to keep the benches away from the court and sitting, it seems to dull the intensity of a game for some reason.

I bet these floors return next year, same color. They'll just stick them in a warehouse somewhere. Long term investment there. The logos last night were shiny, and part of the floor.

Where I come from, we paint the logo's on the court.

Did the NCAA or whatever you americans call it ever think of that?

Never qualify your jokes...just let them hang out there until someone gets offended and starts railing at you....then you respond saying it was a joke. At least that's how we do it here in America.

We paint the floors here, just like you do. However, for special events, at which the logo is only going to be needed for a day or two, the NCAA has large decals which can be laid on the court and stick there. They can then be easily removed later without damaging the floor's finish underneath. Unfortunately, the decals can also become slippery.
