As I recall - and I could be mistaken - the Pac-10 petitioned the NCAA on behalf of USC to allow them to wear those patches this season and it was improved.

On the PC foul, he was straightlined and reacted to the head jerk. He couldn't even see the "contact." Not a good call.

Wow!

In the ACC Tournament...

The #12, #11, #10, and #9 seeds defeated the #5, #6, #7, and #8 seeds today!!! Can one or more of them win tomorrow...oops...today?

One thing the announcers have been consistent with all day: they all hate the DQ'ed player timeout!

Good night all! http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra.../goodnight.gif

The replays on SportsCenter are backing my opinion that this was a missed travel. They are even putting number graphics on the screen for the steps. It is rather blatant. :(

IOW, a DO OVER! :D [img]

I may be wrong, but I believe what happened is that the clock started before the throw-in ended and then the clock stopped when Duke player started dribbling.

No mention about numbers in the rule:
NCAA Rule 3-5 Art. 7. A commemorative/memorial patch, flag or ribbon is permitted within the 4-inch side insert of the game jersey, anywhere on the game pants, anywhere on warm-up suits and within the area of the game jersey between the base of the front neckline and the shoulder seam of the jersey. When the commemorative/memorial patch or ribbon is on the shoulder strap of the game jersey, it shall be sewn on or attached with Velcro.

I agree, Nevada. I would have loved to have seen their coach after this call. He might have been more upset than John Brady after that charge call.

I saw the replay. Looked OK to me.

cmathews Fri Mar 09, 2007 10:50am

ok allow me this

We don\'t get this opportunity much this year in Wyoming.....Wake is doing well in the ACC tourney.....Air Force beat Wake early this year, Wyoming just beat Air Force in the MWC tourney....Send Wyoming to the NCAAs wooooo hoooooo LOL...ok I will come back down to earth now...

But in another doesn\'t happen much out here...a kid from Wyoming is Verbally committed to Wake for next season. Rumor has it that they are sending a highlight from last weekends regional tournament to ESPN, he had a between the legs dunk...haven\'t seen it but I guess it was impressive...

I never questioned your opinion regarding the travel. You implied it was the reason they lost the game and lost any chance of getting to the tournament. But, if I\'m up by two with seconds to play, I sureasheck ain\'t letting a little guard take the ball from one end to the other, without any kind of contact and just lay it in. This was the bad decision made and this, IMO, was the reason WV lost and will play in the NIT.

Nevadaref Fri Mar 09, 2007 06:58pm

HUGE lane violation call against Kentucky!!!

Nevadaref Fri Mar 09, 2007 10:06pm

The WAC gets two teams in the NCAA tourney.

Nevada just lost to Utah State 79-77 in the semifinals.

Nevadaref Fri Mar 09, 2007 10:08pm

How about that second half comeback by NC State?

They have to get some serious consideration from the committee now.

With Atsur back, they certainly are doing better. They could certainly be a force to contend with. In fact, looking at the bracket right now, I think we could very well get a UNC v. NC State rematch in the finals.

My boys for Wake aren\'t doing to tell right now. :(

NV, they\'re 16-14. Sorry but they have to win to get in.

Oh yeah, i definitely agree they have to win the tournament to get in. Then again, the way they\'re playing right now, it might not really be a long shot.
