				monitor rules revisited

Mich St. / Michigan game on right now. 15:04 remaining in the first half. Referee: Steve Welmer; Umpires: Donnee Gray, John Higgins Welmer just went and checked the monitor to decide which Mich St. player fouled on the play. The monitor showed that it was #2 and this was not the player that was originally charged with the foul. It is my understanding that using the monitor for this is strictly forbidden by the NCAA rules. 2-5-3... The officials shall not use a courtside monitor or courtside videotape for judgment calls such as: a. Who committed a foul or whether a foul occurred; Any thoughts or opinions? |
