Time out question

Just curious - what was the rule interp that was so important, it just had to be made before the game started....?

The original post didn't say he wanted a TO to ask about an interpretation, it said after the TO was denied, he wanted the interpretation to explain why it was denied. It doesn't state why he wanted one in the first place.

5.12.4 A time-out shall not be granted until after the ball has become live to start the game.
